About Blackjack Odds Calculator
Blackjack Odds Calculator tells you the mathematically correct play for any blackjack hand. You select your cards and the dealer's upcard, and it returns one answer: hit, stand, double, or split. There is no account, no download, and nothing to buy.
The site exists because basic strategy is a solved problem that most players still get wrong from memory. The correct play for every possible hand was worked out decades ago by simulating millions of rounds. The chart is public. What is hard is recalling it under pressure at a table, which is what a lookup tool is for.
What the numbers are based on
The strategy this tool returns assumes a specific and common set of house rules: four to eight decks, dealer stands on soft 17, doubling after a split is allowed, and no surrender option. Those are the rules at most casino tables and in most online blackjack.
Rule variations change the correct play. If your table has the dealer hitting soft 17, or offers surrender, or uses a single deck, a handful of decisions shift. The differences are small in number but real in cost, and we would rather tell you the assumption than let you assume it matches your table.
How the recommendations were checked
The calculator and the printable chart are driven by the same underlying strategy table, so the two can never disagree with each other. The table was taken from a published basic strategy chart for these rules and verified with automated tests covering every category of hand.
What basic strategy actually does
Playing perfect basic strategy does not make blackjack a winning game. It reduces the house edge to roughly half a percent, which is among the lowest of any game on a casino floor, but the edge remains with the house. Over enough hands you lose money more slowly, not less certainly.
Anyone telling you a strategy chart beats the house is selling something. This tool exists to help you play the game correctly, not to suggest the game can be beaten by playing it correctly.
A word on gambling
Blackjack involves real financial risk. Nothing on this site is gambling advice, a prediction of results, or a recommendation to wager money. Play only what you can afford to lose, and if gambling has stopped being entertainment, step away from it and talk to someone.
